AXIS 247S - Event Configuration
18
Event Configuration
This section describes how to configure the Video Server for alarm handling. Various actions can be configured
to run when certain types of events occur.
A set of parameters describing how and when the Video Server is to perform certain actions
- the circumstances that start an event e.g. at a signal from an external device, such as a door switch or a motion sensor
- the circumstances that start an event e.g. at a pre-programmed time
- what occurs when the event runs e.g. video images uploaded to an FTP server, email notification sent, etc.
Event Servers
Event Servers are used for e.g. receiving uploaded image files and/or notification messages. To set up an Event
server for your Video Server, go to Setup > Event Configuration > Event Servers and enter the required
information according to the selected server type.
For details on each setting, please refer to the online help available from each web page.
Note: Pre-trigger and Post-trigger buffers will be lost if the connection to the event server fails.
When the setup is complete, the connection can be tested by clicking the Test button (the connection test takes
approximately 10 seconds).
An event in the AXIS 247S is when a trigger is activated, causing a certain action to be performed. The event
is the set of parameters (or conditions) that specifies how and when which actions will be performed. A
common event is when an Input/output is activated when triggered by an alarm.
This section describes how to configure the AXIS 247S to perform certain actions when an event (e.g. an
alarm) occurs.
