Unit connectors
Bus Connector - These are the physical interfaces to the video encoder rack, providing power,
network, RS-485 and the I/O connections.
Control Button - This button is used to reset the video encoder to the factory default settings. See
page 18.
Reset Button - This button disconnects and reconnects power to the video encoder. See page 18.
Audio in/out - 3.5 mm jack combined for both input and output. The jacks are compatible with
M6 x 0.5 threaded locking collars.
• In: Balanced or unbalanced input for a mono microphone or line signal.
• Out: Audio out (line level), that can be connected to a public address (PA) system or an
active speaker with built-in amplifier. A stereo connector must be used.
For best audio quality and when using long cables, use a balanced microphone and shielded cables.
For a more secure connection, threaded audio connectors are recommended. In this case, the audio
mounting nut will need to be removed see
Hardware overview,
on page 6.
Video Inputs - The AXIS Q7414 supports 4 video sources. Each video input is terminated using a
coax/BNC connector. Physical connections made using 75 Ohm coaxial video cable have a
recommended maximum length of 800 feet (250 meters).
Note:
AXIS Q7414 does not have physical line termination DIP switches. If the product is to be con-
nected in parallel with other equipment, 75 Ohm video terminations can be enabled/disabled on
each input in the product's web pages at Video & Audio > Video Input > Video termination.
