SystemConsiderations

TheAxisproductshallbeinstalledwithinthesecuredarea.

TheAxisproduct,whetheritisastandalonedoorcontrollerorasystemofdoorcontrollers,shall

notimpairtheintendedoperationofthepanichardwareusedinconjunctionwithit.

TheAxisproductshouldbeinstalledonawall(preferred)oraceiling,withorwithoutajunction

box.ItcanalsobeinstalledonaDINrail.

ConguretheHardware

CongurethehardwareintheHardwareCongurationpagesbeforeinstallingtheproduct.

Doors,locksandotherdevicescanbeconnectedtotheAxisproductbeforecompletingthe

hardwareconguration.However,theconnectionofdeviceswillbeeasierifyoucompletethe

hardwarecongurationrst.Thisisbecausethehardwarepinchartwillbeavailablewhenthe

congurationiscomplete.Thehardwarepinchartisaguideonhowtoconnectthepinsandcan

beusedasareferencesheetformaintenance.

Tocongurethehardware:

1.Ifrequired,removethecoverscrew,insertaslottedscrewdriverintothecoverremoval

slotandremovethecover.

2.ConnecttheAxisproducttothenetworkandwaituntilthenetworkconnectionhas

beenestablishedandtheproducthaspoweredup.Iftheproductisnotpoweredthrough

PoweroverEthernetbutwilluseEthernetandexternalpowerinstead,alsoconnectthe

producttoaSELVcompliantlimitedpowersource(LPS).Formoreinformationaboutthe

powerconnector(DCinput),seeSpecications,onpage16.

3.Accesstheproduct.Seepage30.

4.GotoSetup>HardwareCongurationandclickStartnewhardwareconguration.

Iftheproduct’shardwarehasnotbeencongured,HardwareCongurationwillbe

availableinthenoticationpanelintheOverviewpage.

5.Selectadooroptiondependingonthenumberofdoors,one(1)ortwo(2),thatwillbe

connectedtotheAxisproduct

6.EnteradescriptivenameforeachdoorandclickNext.Itisrecommendedtoprovide

thedoorswithuniquedescriptivenamessothattheyeasilycanbeidentifedbyanyone

whowilladministratethesystem.

7.Selectthelockoptionsthatmatchtherequirementsandthetypeoflockconnections

thatwillbeusedandclickNext.Formoreinformationaboutavailableoptions,seethe

product’sUserManual.

8.SelectthetypesofreadersthatwillbeusedandclickFinish.Formoreinformationabout

availableoptions,seetheproduct’sUserManual.
